This fountain can be found along the Coal Harbor section of Vancouver. It’s unique in that it has stepping stones such that you can walk right through the fountain, almost like a stream in an urban setting. I found it quite peaceful, however the night I was there a young man on his stunt bike was hopping from stone to stone on one wheel. Probably not what the architects had in mind, but I was impressed nonetheless.

Coquina Pier
This was taken atop what’s left of the Coquina Beach pier on Anna Marie Island, Florida. While the pier is slowly giving way to the elements, local fishermen and birds still use it daily. I love the blue green waters of the Gulf of Mexico, they’re always clear and inviting which explains why we have so many visitors to this area year round.

Van Wezel Stairs
These stairs are on the grounds of the Van Wezel Performing Arts center in Sarasota Florida. Actually, I couldn’t think of anything to write about these, I’m coming up blank. How’s this, …Often patrons walk these stairs dressed to the nines in anticipation of a great performance. Hmmm, well maybe I should just let it go. You can make up your own story, it’s probably much better than mine.

Hidden Bridge
Actually this bridge isn’t hidden at all, it’s crossed by thousands of pedestrians and cyclists daily at the entrance to Stanley Park in Vancouver. I’ve included a Google Maps Link to this spot to get another perspective. It’s such a scenic little spot that at the same moment I came here to capture this, another photographer was setup not five feet away pointing in the opposite direction. I always try to smile and make conversation when I met other photographers, but it’s been my experience those with tripods are serious, absorbed in their craft and not likely to chat much. Either that or I look a little weird, …the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

Trinity
This is the Trinity Episcopal Parish Church in St. Augustine, Florida. There are so many people that like to visit St. Augustine that I had to get up before dawn to capture a few shots without the tourists. In general, this little town of is a photographers paradise, an abundance of subjects in every direction.

Symmetry
This is my impression of a foot bridge along False Creek in Vancouver. A wedding party with photographers in tow were right behind me as I set up. The happy couple walked around me and stood in front of my camera on the bridge. With all the excitement they assumed I was one of the hired photographers and were posing for the shot. Realizing the error, they giggled and moved on. And of course all of that has nothing to do with my artistic renderings of Vancouver’s urban architecture.

Nokomis Lookout
Obtain a print
This is the lifeguard lookout stand in Nokomis Florida. When I came upon this I noticed a gentleman sitting on the stairs in quiet contemplation. I’m pretty self conscious so I did my best not to make too much noise while taking this picture. The clicks on my camera can be a little annoying, so after I got the shot I quickly moved on to leave the soul in peace.
Hotel Georgia
This is the Hotel Georgia on a rainy night at the corner of West Georgia and Howe in downtown Vancouver. I think its cool to see the older architecture along with the new, it somehow makes it standout more and adds to the character of the town.

Holding Pattern
A holding pattern is exactly what Flight 500 was in when I took this. It was getting close to sunset and being stuck in a window seat I figured I’d make the best of it by pulling out my camera. I think the guy sitting next to me was a little amused, nonetheless each time my side faced west I had this view of the sun setting over the Gulf of Mexico. Of course once we landed there was no sun to see, just typical afternoon thunder showers in Tampa, Florida.

Motion
I grew up on science fiction and so I can easily daydream that a building is a spaceship. Sometimes I’ll come across architecture that’s ready for warp drive like this one along False Creek in Vancouver. Just one of many interesting buildings to be seen walking around Vancouver.
